4 Causes of Weak Faith

Causes and Effects of Weak Faith. The most beautiful and most important gift and pleasure, namely the enjoyment of faith, cannot be denied, faith is one of the main keys for us to enter the paradise of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

But without us realizing it, our faith is getting smaller and smaller, then, what are the causes of our faith weakening ? and what are the consequences if our faith is weak ?

let's see more info about the causes and consequences if our faith is weak.

Causes of Weakened Faith

1. Emotional Consistency

Every human being must have feelings (emotions) and a sound mind except for humans who Allah Ta'ala has taken out of their minds (Crazy), but sometimes some of us are drowned in a sea of emotions so that we do not have a wise attitude that causes infertility in thinking and conditions like this cause someone is easy to make mistakes so leave the right.

This is the condition experienced by some people who are emotionally consistent (feelings) not because of their own desires or sacred consciousness. Sometimes this kind of consistent attitude arises because it is influenced by a piece of advice that he hears or a sentence that affects him.

Facts and experience have said so. The most important thing in a consistent attitude is a strong will, total awareness and strong will. One who enters the realm of consistency should know the safety and happiness of the hereafter and to gain the love of Allah the Exalted is by obeying it and sticking to the Al-Qur'an and the Sunnah of His Messenger.

2. At least Mental Education

Mental education here is the education of a person to himself where he educates himself and directs him to the right Shari'i direction which is in accordance with the purpose of human creation. Therefore, humans are required to purify and educate themselves

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says,

قَدْ اَفْلَحَ مَنْ زَكّٰىهَاۖ

وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنْ دَسّٰىهَاۗ

"The person who purifies it (the soul) is fortunate indeed, and indeed the person who pollutes it loses."(Asy-Syams 9-10 )

To purify oneself is to obey one's Lord and to pollute one's soul is to commit immorality. Personality mental education is an urgent requirement that must be carried out by every individual who wants to be consistent, because the human soul is like an animal, if you let go of the reins, then the animal will overwhelm you, even will make you perish, whereas if you can restrain the animal with the reins, then you will be able to regulate and control it as you wish.

3. Slightly Demanding Knowledge

The best worship that should be done by consistent people is to seek knowledge, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says

يَرۡفَعِ اللّٰهُ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مِنۡكُمۡ ۙ وَالَّذِيۡنَ اُوۡتُوا الۡعِلۡمَ دَرَجٰتٍ

"Surely Allah will raise (degrees) those who believe among you and those who are given knowledge by several degrees." ( Al-Mujadillah : 11 )

And Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says

"Allah declares that there is no god but Him; (likewise) the angels and those of knowledge who uphold justice, there is no god but Him, the Mighty, the Wise." ( Ali-imran : 18 )
Ibnul Qayyim said: "In this verse there is a statement that Allah Ta'ala has made knowledgeable people as witnesses to the Oneness of Allah, this shows that knowledgeable people have privileges with Allah Ta'ala from several aspects, this is:

  • First: To set them apart as witnesses to the Oneness of Allah without including other human groups.
  • Second: Align their testimony with the testimony of God.
  • Third: Align their testimonies with the testimonies of His Angels."

4. Lack of Self Introspection

A Muslim should ask himself, Why should I introspect? Is this self-introspection just a routine job that doesn't have any function behind it ?!"

So, we introspect ourselves because our deeds will be judged later on the Day of Resurrection,
Allah Ta'ala says,

"Hai you who believe! Fear Allah and let everyone pay attention to what he has done for tomorrow (hereafter), and fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is All-Aware of what you do." ( Al-Hasyr :18 )

And indeed the matter on the Day of Resurrection will be very hard for people who have never introspect themselves in this world, they do deeds without calculation and then they find that Allah Ta'ala has collected all their deeds.
